Several Shot, 1 Killed In Christmas Night Violence

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – It was not a silent Christmas night in St. Louis Wednesday.

Shortly after 10 p.m., two men were shot while in a car in the 3800 block of Cottage Avenue in the JeffVanderLou neighborhood.

One of them, a man in his early 40s, suffered gunshot wounds to the legs and was pronounced dead on arrival at a local hospital.

A second man, 51, suffered gunshot wounds to the arm and upper back and was listed in critical but stable condition Thursday morning. Police have no suspects in that shooting.

Later in the evening, a fight at Club Dante’s in the 3200 block of Olive Street spilled outside when the participants were forced to leave.

Two groups of people began shooting at each other and as one of the vehicles sped away, it struck another car. That driver ran but was caught. The other vehicle left the scene.

Shortly after 2:30 Thursday morning, a man was shot while sitting a car outside The City Ultra Lounge at 20th Street and Washington Avenue. The shots came from a passing car which left the scene.
