ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – It’s almost like we’re back to square one. Snow falling overnight and early this morning have made roads, ramps and bridges slick.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says about 200 snowplows are out in full force clearing about an inch of snow.
But there is good news, a lot of progress was made in the past couple of days so much of the salt and brine that was laid down is still out there.
“There’s a lot of residual salt on the roads from the previous storm that is helping us a little bit, but they are obviously putting down some more,” said MoDot Spokesman Andrew Gates.
This latest snowfall means plow drivers have been working 12 hour shifts for nearly a week.
Gates told KMOX those drivers are “as well as can be expected,” but they “take a lot of pride in what they do and they get out and get the job done.”
