ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – State education officials will hold a public hearing regarding the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s State Support and Intervention Plan on Tuesday, Feb. 25, in St. Louis.

The hearing will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, JC Penney Auditorium, 1 University Blvd., St. Louis. It will be an opportunity to gather feedback regarding the Department’s draft plan for classification, support and intervention in unaccredited school districts.

”Your feedback is necessary and important to this process,” Missouri Commissioner of Education Chris Nicastro said. “We want to ensure every child in Missouri has access to high-quality schools in their community in order to be prepared for college and career success.”

Anyone wishing to make comments may sign up to do so at the meeting. Those who cannot attend the hearing may view the plan and offer feedback by visiting www.dese.mo.gov/unaccredited-districts.

A similar hearing took place on Feb. 24 in Kansas City.
