JERSEYVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – A local Humane Society shelter might have to close their doors because of astronomical heating bills and a harsh winter.
Propane prices are hitting everyone hard so much so that a local no-kill animal shelter is considering closing their doors.
Riverbend Humane Society Director Bill Stuart says the propane spike is killing their budget.
“If someone out there could help with some kind of donation. Even food, bedding, blankets, just even prayers would be awesome,” says Stuart.
Stuart says not only are the bills going up, but people are dropping off more animals because they can’t afford to take care of them anymore. If you would like to help, contact the Riverbend Humane Society at (618) 498-7299 or go to their website riverbendanimalshelter.org.
