Eureka Firefighter Killed In Car Accident

Eureka, MO-(KMOX) Condolences are coming in from fire departments around the area, as the Eureka Fire Department mourns the loss of one of its own, who was killed in a Friday night traffic crash.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says Greg Light’s car was hit head-on by a vehice that was trying to pass another on Highway O near Catawissa.

Eureka Deputy Chief Randy Gable says that in his 26 years in the department, Light trained thousands of EMT’s and paramedics, and was heaviliy involved with the junior firefighter program.

Light leaves behind a wife, a son who is also a firefighter/paramedic, and a high-school-aged daughter.

An 11 year old girl in the car that hit Light, was seriously injured.
