Cards Send 9 Players to Minor League Camp

JUPITER, Fla. – The St. Louis Cardinals announced following today’s game that they have sent nine players from their Major League camp to minor league camp.

Today’s moves include the following:

Optioned to the Memphis (AAA) roster were pitcher Angel Castro and outfielders Mike O’Neill and Rafael Ortega.  Re-assigned to minor league camp were pitchers Kurt Heyer and Boone Whiting, infielder Patrick Wisdom and catchers Carson Kelly, Casey Rasmus and Cody Stanley.

The Cardinals re-assigned pitcher Marco Gonzales to minor league camp yesterday.

With today’s moves, the Cardinals now have 37 roster players and 12 non-roster players remaining in Major League Camp.
