FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOX) - A crowd of teenagers congregated in the parking lot of the Emerson YMCA on Pershall Rd. in Ferguson on Saturday night.

While officers and YMCA staff tried to clear the crowd away, gunshots rang out, sending everyone ducking and running. Officers saw one teenager pointing a gun into the air and firing a shot, and they ran after him, catching the 16-year-old and getting his gun.

At the same time, a 17-year-old was admitted to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the ankle.

The 16-year-old suspect is being held at the family court in Brentwood.
