ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – As if Saturday’s downtown St. Patrick’s Parade wasn’t enough, here’s another one.
Today’s parade is the one that’s always held on the real St. Patrick’s Day.
It’s a smaller parade than the downtown parade but the sponsor, The Ancient Order of Hibernians, say this is the authentic one.
It steps off at 12:30 p.m. at Tamm and Oakland in the city and heads south to Manchester.
Organizers say coolers and backpacks are banned from the parade route but there’ll be no shortage of green beer. The parade route is dotted with taverns—all of which are Irish today.
Parking can be a problem, and officials recommended parking in the south lot at the St. Louis Zoo, or anywhere else in Forest Park. More information is available at stlhibernians.com.
