FRANKLIN COUNTY, Mo. (KMOX) – The only crisis nursery in Franklin County is experiencing a financial crisis of their own.
The brutal winter tripled Grace’s Place’s heating bill.
Grace’s Place can’t pay the bills, and if they don’t get some donations by May, they’ll have to shut down.
Amanda Jones is the director.
“As any non-profit knows, when you get an expense 2 to 3 times outside of the limit you had budgeted for it doesn’t take too long for your agency to be in a pretty precarious situation,” she says.
Jones says Grace’s Place needs $10,000 to keep the doors open until they have some summer fundraisers. The crisis nursery opened in December 2011 and has helped more than 170 children in that time.
