KANSAS CITY, Kan. (CBS St. Louis/AP) — A top MLS star gets a yellow card for taking a selfie following a goal.

Sporting Kansas City’s Dom Dwyer took the ball from Chicago Fire’ Patrick Yanni, deked goalkeeper Sean Johnson with a head fake to the right scored with a left-foot shot.

Following the goal, Dwyer took a cellphone from a photographer along the sideline, ran over to fans and took a selfie pic with teammate Soony Saad in the shot.

Unfortunately the referee wasn’t as enthusiastic as the fans about the selfie, handing out a yellow card to Dwyer for excessive celebration.

The goal was Dywer’s 12th of the season, two behind New York’s Bradley Wright-Phillips for the MLS lead.

Chicago and Kansas City played to a 1-1 draw.
