Women’s Program Addressing Gun Violence

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Women’s Voices Raised for Social Justice has been working on social justice issues for a decade now, and they’re addressing gun violence as a public health issue.

“Lock it for Love” is a program of the group working to get families with guns and children to lock the guns up.

“Eight children in America are killed every day by guns, and so many of those gun deaths are preventable,” says Lise Bernstein, president of Women’s Voices Raised for Social Justice.

She says you may not have a gun in your home, but when your children play at a friend’s home, don’t be afraid to ask if there’s a gun in the house and if it’s secure.

Women’s Voices is making free gun locks available at community events. Click here for additional information.
