Maryville Has Snakes In The Park

MARYVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – The Maryville Police Department has a posting on its Facebook page, trying to cool down concerns about snakes in Drost Park.

The Maryville Public Works Department has removed 13 snakes from the park, and a social media post is circulating about a possible snake infestation in the park, including the presence of water moccasins.

Maryville police say on their Facebook page that only 4 snakes were found in the garden area, which is undergoing its annual routine treatment for snakes.

Officers say due to public concern, the garden area has been sectioned-off and arrangements were made for an expert to investigate any infestation issues.
