Funeral Home Murder Suspect Charged

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A St. Louis man has been charged with the murder last week of a man outside a Midtown funeral home on Washington Avenue.

Last Monday, in the middle of the day, 39-year old George Calmese Junior was gunned down. Another victim was shot and wounded, but survived.

One of the suspects, 32-year old Van Batts Junior, was also shot. He is charged first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

A second suspect in Calmese’s death, 26-year old Torrian Wallace, was  charged last week.
