ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Cardinals are making a slight change to their bullpen ahead of this weekend’s home series with Oakland.
The team announced Friday it recalled right-handed pitcher Miguel Socolovich from AAA Memphis and sent right-hander Sam Tuivailala to Memphis.
The 30-year-old Socolovich will be making his second appearance in the majors this season. He appeared in two games last month, allowing one run in 3.2 innings pitched, while fanning five.
Socolovich has compiled a 2-6 mark with 5 saves and a 3.14 ERA in 45 games (51.1 IP) at Memphis this season, ranking T1st in the Pacific Coast League in Holds (13) and 3rd among PCL relievers with his 1.12 WHIP.
