Officer Flamion Makes Progress at Trauma Center in Colorado

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Ballwin police officer, shot-and-paralyzed during a traffic stop this summer, is now getting treatment at a trauma center in Colorado.

Initially when he was shot in the neck, Officer Mike Flamion could not speak. Gradually he could whisper words and now there’s even better news.

“He’s back to having almost his full voice as he had before, which is really progress,” family friend Father Donald Dalton of St. Pious the Tenth says.

Father Dalton adds he has heard from Flamion’s mother that his morale is really good.

Dalton says Flamion hopes to be eating solid foods soon. He’s working on a computer with a straw, and had some unexpected movement in his right shoulder, which is giving the family reason to hope.
