ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund on Tuesday announced its endorsement of Democrat Chris Koster for Missouri governor.
The NRA cited the Attorney General’s longstanding support of Second Amendment rights as the key reason for its endorsement.
Koster released the following statement in response:
“I am pleased to receive the endorsement of the NRA. As a rural prosecutor, State Senator, and now as Attorney General, I have long defended Missouri’s hunting heritage and Second Amendment rights. As Governor, I pledge to continue to protect the traditions and values of people across Missouri.”
Koster is up against opponent Eric Greitens, a former Navy SEAL officer who won the Republican primary after a hard-fought race in which he cast himself as a conservative outsider willing to use his military bravado to blow up perceived corruption in government.
