ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Overall crime dropped seven percent in August in the city of St. Louis compared to a year ago.

Year-to-date, there were some 4,000 crimes against people, and 12,000 property crimes.

Among the unsolved crimes are a rash of late night robberies at fast food restaurants, and a series of arsons around the Benton Park neighborhood from earlier this summer.
