Two Town Halls Set on the American Bottom Watershed in the Metro East

MADISON, IL (KMOX) – Madison County residents and business owners are being encouraged to attend one of two public hearings this week on the American Bottom Watershed Plan.

American Bottom Watershed includes Granite City, Madison, Mitchell, Pontoon Beach, Venice and some unincorporated areas.

Madison County, the Heartlands Conservancy and the U-S Army Corps of Engineers will be on hand to answer questions about water quality and to inform the public about goals for the watershed planning process.

The first open house is this Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Pontoon Beach Village Hall. Then Thursday at Nelson Hagnauer Township Hall in Granite City from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.
