Gun in Officer-Involved Shooting Has Defaced Serial Number

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Investigators say the gun the 14-year-old shot by St. Louis police officers Sunday, had a defaced serial number.

Police say the teen ran and fired a shot at the officers, when they pulled up to ask him about a carjacking. He dropped the gun as he tried to flee, but was caught near Lilian and Davison.

He is last reported to be in critical, but stable condition.

The officers are on administrative leave pending the investigation.
