BBB Warns of ‘Grandparent Scam’ During Spring Break

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Spring break is approaching and the Better Business Bureau says that means it’s about the time that the “Grandparent scam” pops up.

With students traveling away from home and family members worrying about their safety, scammers use it as an opportunity.

The BBB says scammers will call and pretend to be a child, or a friend of a child, who is in a difficult situation and needs money.
