SAUGET, ILL. (KMOX) – Union workers at the Holten meat-packing plant in Sauget are back on the job after approving a new three-year contract.

They had been on strike since mid-March.

The union calls the contract “industry-leading,” with improved seniority benefits, in addition to improved wages.

Holten management and UFCW local leaders are planning a cookout today to welcome back the workers.
