6-Year-Old Girl Dead After Hit-and-Run; Reward Offered for Info

ST. LOUIS (KMOX)(UPDATED 4:15 p.m.) A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the hit-and-run driver who killed a 6-year-old girl in St. Louis Thursday evening.

Janell “Nelly” Rice was hit at Labadie and East Norwood in North St. Louis by a four-door, light-colored Nissan Altima with black trim and tinted windows.

The vehicle was last seen speeding east on Labadie, then south on Norwood.

A 6-year-old girl is dead after being struck by a hit-and-run driver.

The accident happened just after 8 p.m. Thursday on Labadie Avenue in North St. Louis.

The child was playing when a car struck her near the curb, then left the scene.

Police say the girl was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police are searching for the driver, but still haven’t released a description.
