Mayor Krewson’s Board of Alderman Replacement Forced to Withdraw

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The St. Louis Democratic Committee’s pick to replace Mayor Lyda Krewson on the Board of Alderman is dropping out of the race.

The St. Louis Post-Dispact reports Elise Miller Hoffman does not meet the city’s residency requirement. It says a candidate for alderman must be have lived in the city of St. Louis for at least three years. Hoffman lived in St. Louis County as recently as 15 months ago.

The special election to fill Mayor Krewson’s seat will be held July 11.
