ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The NFL has hired a Clayton attorney to defend a lawsuit brought by the city of St. Louis and the Regional Convention and Sports Complex Authority.

The St. Louis Business Journal reports Jerry Carmody has been selected.

The city and RSA contend Rams owner Stan Kroenke and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell defrauded the region out of $100 million or more because they didn’t follow the NFL’s own relocation guidelines.

The case is set for trial in St. Louis in October.
