UPDATE: Police say the 5-year-old who was shot Saturday, was in a car with two adults who had just bought marijuana.
The Post-Dispatch reports the adults told investigators they were in the area of West Florissant and Genevieve when the shots rang out. They realized the boy had been shot and took him to a hospital.
The child’s in critical but stable condition with a stomach wound. It’s not clear how the adults are related to the child, but he and the woman have the same last name.
ST. LOUIS, MO (KMOX) – St. Louis City Police are investigating the shooting of a five-year-old child.
Police have been called to the hospital. The child arrived there with a gunshot wound to the chest.
The original call for a shooting came from Beacon and West Florissant around 8 Saturday evening, near Bellefontaine Cemetary. No other information is available.
