Search and Rescue Dog in Training Found Dead

ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – A dog that was training to become federally-certified in urban search and rescue has been found dead.

The Boone County Fire Department says two-year-old “Redden” went missing Tuesday night.

After a lengthy search and social media postings, a woman called the dog’s handler and said she accidentally hit him with her car.

The handler, a member of the Missouri Task Force One disaster team, found Redden dead a short time later.
