ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Those wanting to take advantage of the new Invest In Kids program launch next month are urged to sign up now for a My Tax Illinois account.

Invest In Kids offers a tax credit to individuals and businesses donating toward private school scholarships for low income students. Illinois Department of Revenue spokesman Terry Horstman says you need to have a My Tax Illinois Account to participate.

“We certainly request folks sign up today. The application project takes seven to ten days to complete the set up due to security authentication,” he says.

Those interested in applying for the credit can do so beginning January 2nd.
