ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – Some St. Louis County police employees feel they’ve been left behind.

As St. Louis county council members debated the budget, they heard from civilian police employee Tiffany Pike who noted that while officers got raises after Proposition P, she and her colleagues did not.

“Right now I’m trying to convince myself and other coworkers to stay with the department instead of looking for jobs outside the department. A little hope goes a long way,” she says.

“It almost bring tears to your eyes to know that so many support peronel feel left out of the equation,” says councilwoman Hazel Erby.

Erby got applause when she said she hoped the money saved from reductions to the budget could go to those employees who hadn’t had a raise.
