ST. LOUIS (KMOX) – The Salvation Army needs your help.

Donations are way down this year for their Tree of Lights campaign. So far $1.4 million has been collected compared to 2.7 at the same time last year. Lt. Col. Dan Jennings says red kettle donations are down 24 percent alone. This year marks the 70th anniversary of the Tree of Lights campaign, created to provide food, shelter and clothing to men, women and children as well as homeless military veterans.

The 2017 tree of lights goal is $6.1 million.
