The reason for the honor: Sidney Keys III, with the help of his mother, Winnie Keys, created the monthly Books ‘n Bros book club to encourage African-American boys to read.
Today, the club has more than 100 members, and Sidney is only 11 years old.
He says the idea for the book club began after his mother took him to a visit Eye See Me, an African-American children’s book store.
Winnie Keys helps select the books and creates a curriculum for each one.
Sidney wants Books ‘n Bros to spread across the country, and he hopes to make reading famous.
