The St. Louis medical examiner says the 18-year-old fatally shot by police suffered a severed spinal cord, prompting a lawyer for the family to further question the police contention that the suspect ran a short distance after the shooting.
Police say several larcenies occurred in west St. Louis County between Aug. 7 and Aug. 9, where the suspect approached elderly female victims after they returned home from grocery shopping, then stole from them.
Police say narcotics were involved in both cases.
A third shooting victim is in critical condition at a the hospital.
