Volunteering to Help Vets
10/27/11-Hundreds of orange-clad volunteers descended on a north St. Louis neighborhood (5000 block of Thekla) Thursday morning to begin converting an unused dormitory donated by North City Church of Christ into a technology training and resource center for veterans as they transition from military to civilian life. The effort was a collaboration between The Home Depot, The Mission Continues and Rebuilding Together-St. Louis. Volunteers from Scott Air Force Base also pitched in. Volunteers also went around making repairs for more than a dozen homes of veterans and their families. (KMOX/Brett Blume)
