STL 250: Cakeway to the West
St. Louis boasts a sprawling tapestry of iconic locations. They range from the postcard-worthy heights of the Gateway Arch to immaculate historical homes to hole-in-the-wall eateries that become neighborhood institutions.
stl250 wants to celebrate all of these locations through “Cakeway to the West,” its region-wide Explore St. Louis project in honor of St. Louis’ 250th birthday year. The end result: 250 fiberglass birthday cakes, placed at notable spots throughout the 15-county St. Louis region.
We’re asking the public to vote on spots that are quintessentially St. Louis. Where do you take friends when they’re visiting from out of town? What places speak to you on a personal or historical level? What places define the story of our region?
The top 50 vote getters all get cakes! You can choose from more than 300 pre-selected locations or write in your own favorite spot. Once a location receives more than 25 write-ins, it gets added to the main list.
Voting is open through Jan. 3! Check stl250.org for updates on voting leaders.
