The Missouri Department of Conservation on Monday reported that a Macon County adult buck and an adult doe in Adair County tested positive for chronic wasting disease.
Prosecutors say Paul Potter stabbed Willis Meredith, dismembered his body and set fires to conceal the crime. He also allegedly threw the victim’s arms at witnesses.
The Department of Conservation will take tissue samples from September 15 through January.
Five cases of chronic wasting disease have been found recently among deer in the northern part of the state.
