9/5/11-Eight- to ten-thousand people took part in the annual Labor Day parade through downtown St. Louis Monday morning, with thousands more lining the parade route along Olive, Tucker and Market. Many of those in attendance found themselves having to bundle up against the chill in the air with temperatures hovering in the low 60's as the parade stepped off at 8:30 am. "We Are One" was the theme of this year's parade through downtown. "We're down a little bit overall numbers-wise, but the spirit is higher this year I think than ever," said Bob Soutier, president of the Greater St. Louis Labor Council, AFL-CIO. "We're really doing our best to promote labor." (KMOX/Brett Blume)
