Despite pleas from his surviving daughter, Gov. Jay Nixon denied clemency for Missouri Death Row inmate Richard Strong of St. Louis. He was executed at 6:49 p.m. at the prison of Bonne Terre.
“My father’s a very important role model in my life,” she said. “He’s always been with me. He’s the only surviving parent I have and I struggle in life. To see my father live would help me.”
Richard Strong will die within 24-hours after 6 p.m. for a double homicide in 2000.
