St. Louis Effort Seeks $100 Million For Startups

St. Louis area government and civic leaders on Thursday launched an ambitious effort to help entrepreneurs start their companies, grow them and keep them in St. Louis.

Jay Nixon held a press conference at the Danforth Plant Science Center Thursday morning to confirm that he will call a special legislative session for this September, with one of the issues to be discussed being the Aerotropolis bill that would help establish a China trade hub at Lambert Airport. Nixon Outlines Plans For 2011 Special Session

Nixon and lawmakers have been working since the end of the legislative session in May to build a package that would authorize new business incentives while paring back tax credits.
