Gov. Jay Nixon plans to head to New York to meet with business leaders and talk about disaster response efforts at an event sponsored by the Clinton Global Initiative.
The committee will check whether the resources poured into disaster recovery are getting the expected result.
Typically, the federal government pays many of the immediate costs for disaster response, then bills state and local government for 25% of the total.
Lawmakers will focus on the state’s emergency response, financial aid and insurance coverage.
