P.E. & F. Inc. of St. Louis is recalling about 123 pounds of its Fazio’s Ready-To-Eat Meatballs because of possible bacterial contamination.
Hawkeye Food service is recalling two lots of hard-cooked egg products due to concerns the product could be tainted with listeria monocytogenes.
The outbreak killed 25 people in a dozen states, including two in Missouri.
“Anytime there is a contaminated food product, we are concerned and take steps so that it’s removed from shelves as quickly as possible and to notify consumers.”
Three listeria cases now reported in Show-Me State.
The death toll surpassed the number of deaths linked to an outbreak of salmonella in peanuts almost three years ago.
The CDC says only one case of listeria has been contributed to contaminated cantaloupes.
