During part of the oath that reads “I will obey the order of the president of the United States” members of the crowd could be heard booing.
So far, about 200 employees at the Missouri National Guard have been furloughed and more could be on the way if a deal isn’t reached in the coming days.
One state department that would face potentially severe consequences of a government shutdown would be the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
“There has been some seepage and there has been some sloughing of the wall in two places,” Clarksville Mayor Jo Anne Smiley said.
Nixon on Friday activated the Missouri National Guard, deploying them to Clarksville and other Mississippi River towns under siege by the Mississippi River.
The ACLU feels the surplus equipment is leading to more aggressive policing, especially in poor neighborhoods and neighborhoods of color.
They will help design a migrant camp.
