Ride of the Century
The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 6 people and towed 20 bikes during the Ride of the Century motorcycle rally that brought thousands to St. Louis over the Labor Day weekend.
Violations ranged from careless and reckless driving to operating stolen motor vehicles St. Louis County arrested six riders for registration violations and towed eight motorcycles.
Two stunt motorcyclists in St. Louis for an annual gathering died in separate crashes over the weekend. The Ride of the Century sponsored by Streetfighterz attracts thousands of street-bike riders from across the country.
Riders told KMOX police were checking for drivers licenses and proof of insurance before Sunday’s big event.
Authorities say Michael Evans of Harrisburg, Ill. was in St. Louis for the 2013 Ride of the Century event.
Twenty-three motorcycle riders were arrested and their bikes impounded by St. Louis police Thursday night for “careless and reckless” driving.
A St. Louis street bike freestyle stunt team known as Streetfighterz hosts the annual “Ride of the Century” event starting Friday.
This year police say they wont put up with their stunts.
