A weeks-long controversy involving the state illegally sharing the personal information of Missouri gun owners took a dramatic turn Thursday.
It was in Stoddard County that a lawsuit was filed against the Missouri Department of Revenue and the plaintiff’s attorney says Gov. Nixon shares responsibility.
Sen. Kurt Schaefer, R-Columbia, said the department has been violating state privacy laws by sharing Missourians’ personal information.
“We believe that is a new and illegal hurdle to someone who is trying to exercise their Second Amendment right to a concealed carry permit.”
Authorities say a 32-year-old southeast Missouri man died after being shot while hunting.
The service for Specialist James Burnett will be held next Sunday, November 27th at the old high school gymnasium in Advance, Missouri.
