University of Illinois trustees have voted to add coverage for sex-change operations to the health insurance plan used by many students.
Illinois’ flagship university comes in at No. 3 on the list that The Princeton Review released on Monday.
Chancellor Phyllis Wise says the hiring plan is intended to turn the campus into the top public land-grant university for research.
If the increase is approved, new students at the university’s Urbana-Champaign campus would pay $11,104 a year in tuition in the fall.
